Tigers edge Tech, remain undefeated at home
by "Mizzou Matt"
Columbia, MO- Texas Tech University and the #21 University of Missouri Tigers faced off tonight at Mizzou Arena, as this college basketball season is drawing to a close.  The Red Raiders entered the game unranked, with an overall record of 11-14 overall and vying for a place in the top 12 in conference play at 3-7.  Mizzou entered the game 19-6, 5-5.  Marcus Denmon, who was questionable for tonight's game, dressed out and eclipsed the 1,000 career points mark in the first half.

The Tigers struggled throughout the game, as the crowd seemed to be not as interested as they normally are.  Mizzou averages a 24-point difference in their home wins, but only managed a cushion of eight, winning 92-84 over the Raiders.

Denmon, showing no side effects to the Bowers elbow in the last game, finished with a team-high 20 points, putting his career total to 1,006.  Kim English finished with 16, Michael Dixon fouled out with 13, and Laurence Bowers was the fourth Tiger to finish in double-digits with 10.  Phil "Flip" Pressey dialed in on 3/4 from three-point land for 9 points.

The Tigers' free throw woes continue, going 12-20 (60%) in the game.  Mizzou shot an impressive 47% from behind the three-point paint and 58% from the field.

The Tigers go on the road to face Iowa State on Saturday at 12:45p/CT.  Iowa State is last in the Big 12 at 14-11, 1-9.
